We’re excited to partner with the short documentary Jesters and Fools to bring humor and social science together in orientation week. The 15-minute film, featuring comedians like Jim Norton, Colin Quinn, and Mo Amer, alongside Duke University social scientist Chris Bail, challenges the idea that Americans are hopelessly divided. Instead, it shows that pluralism is alive on our campuses and that humor can open the door to meaningful dialogue across differences.
When paired with Sway AI’s orientation module, the experience goes beyond watching a film. Students are invited to put its lessons into practice through one-on-one, AI-guided conversations with peers who see the world differently.
Together, Jesters and Fools and Sway AI combine comedy, research, and technology to help campuses spark a culture of constructive dialogue from day one.
